AFC Toronto is proud to announce the appointment of Marko Milanovic as Head Coach and Sylvia Forbes as Assistant Coach. This new coaching duo brings a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to developing talent and promoting excellence in women's soccer.

Marko Milanovic takes the helm with over a decade of coaching experience with North Toronto Soccer where he currently serves as Head Coach in League1 Ontario's Premier Division as well as acting as assistant coach at Toronto Metropolitan University. During his time with North Toronto Soccer, Marko worked with numerous players who have gone on to play professionally or represent Canada at the National Team level.

Sylvia Forbes joins us from Ajax Soccer Club, where she currently serves as Technical Director in addition to her current coaching position at FC Seaton. Her playing career includes representing Purdue University and Canada at the U15, U17, and U20 levels. As a transformational leader, Sylvia has a proven track record in developing young talent and building authentic relationships.

Billy Wilson, AFC Toronto Sporting Director, stated: "We have put in place a great coaching foundation for our team's inaugural season. Marko’s development philosophy and style of play align perfectly with AFC Toronto’s vision. We are excited to have him lead our technical team and build a team that plays an entertaining and attacking brand of football. Sylvia’s experience in the GTA and Southern Ontario, combined with her leadership skills, makes her an invaluable addition to our coaching staff. Her commitment to nurturing talent aligns with our club's mission to empower women in soccer."

Helena Ruken, CEO of AFC Toronto, commented: "The appointment of Marko and Sylvia is just the beginning of putting together a formidable technical staff for our 2025 season. We are committed to building a team that not only competes at the highest level but also inspires and uplifts our community. This is an exciting time for AFC Toronto, and we look forward to the journey ahead."

AFC Toronto is excited to welcome Marko this September and Sylvia in January 2025 as we build towards the inaugural season in the Northern Super League. The club is confident that their leadership will inspire both players and supporters as we aim to set new standards in women's soccer.
